Sprungbrett (2008)
at a.Vermin Glasgow

Located near the botanic garden and the kelvin canal in Glasgow, the chosen space of A.Vermi is one of the areas bombed during the second world war.

New apartment buildings were build in the fifties in a similar style to those ones build in germany at the verry same time. One time one building style, cheap and functional trying to organise life.

I am criticising those functional asthetics of apartment buildings. I create an experience of displacement and opression by placing a diving board above a double bed in the forth flour of this apartment building. The object becomes a specific reading by its space it is represented in.
